Epic July 4th weekend exploring the San Juan’s for @chrisoneill91 bachelor party. This region of Colorado is quite awe-inspiring, and I feel like we just cracked the surface. Also shout out to @redmtnalpinelodge for providing us with crazy good meals and a place to stay. Amazing time with some amazing dudes 🤘🏻 #optoutside

The answer to most questions I get asked about Asha is “I don’t know”. I don’t know how old she is or really her breed, why she’s scared of bikes and cries in rivers but not lakes.⁣Had she even seen a lake before? Worn a collar? Slept in a bed? Had a name? ⁣⁣⁣The one thing I am sure about is that she loves to be outside.. and that’s enough for me 🌿⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣#optoutside #probablyadingo #adoptdontshop #vanlife #mydogismy ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

Our ML6 lantern has several features and benefits. Various white and red power outputs, strobe and even glows in the dark. Hooks at both ends and a magnetic base make for effortless mounting options too!! Check it out. #ML6 #ledlenserusa #ledlenser #lantern #germany #engineering #optoutside #optoutside🌲 🌲🌲🌲🌲🌳🌳🌳🌳🌵

“Going back to a simpler life based on living by sufficiency rather than excess is not a step backward. Rather, returning to a simpler way allows us to regain our dignity, puts us in touch with the land, and makes us value human contact again.” — Yvon Chouinard

There was the car accident down the street where a car hit this tree, making this sap visible. . . . . . . . . #nature #tree #sap #getoutside #optoutside #bnw #blackandwhite #beautiful

"What is the most Scottish place you can think of?" was a question recently asked. Although certainly not the definitive answer, this image sprung to mind. The Lagangarbh Hut ahead of the steep slopes of the Buachaille Etive Mòr shrouded in mist. The hut is a familiar landmark at the start and end of many adventures in the Glencoe hills, a striking photo opportunity for visitors driving through, and looks stunning even in moody weather. What would you say is the most Scottish place and why? .....#lovewilderness #scotspirit #earthpix #liveoutdoors #earthfocus #weliketotravel #bestvacations #themountainiscalling #theoutbound #exploremore #discoverearth #fantastic_earth #optoutside #theoutdoorfolk #landscape_hunter #superbueno #adventureculture #ourplanetdaily #beautifuldestinations #intothewild #letsgosomewhere #gooutside #lagangarbhhut #glencoe #lochaber #wildaboutlochaber #scottishhighlands #scotland

It’s great around Portland and all, but I’m stoked to have bought a ticket to Italy for some time in the Dolomites. I’ll fly into Venice, spend some time, hope I can find some climbing partners, and get after it 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻

This is excruciating to write, but here it goes.Ready for real life stuff? Hiking the Appalachian Trail is HARD. But not hard enough to ever make me quit. It’s the type of hard that makes me want to prove myself. And I did. I hiked over 900 MILES of it. And it tore me down and built me back up and it was glorious.I hopped off the trail for a few weeks for a wedding my husband and I were in in France for our dearest friends. It was epic. Upon returning though, I realized a few things.1. Europe is expensive and our bank account isn’t where we were planning it to be.2. The Appalachian Trail and its community is bomb. I’ve met the most beautiful souls on it and discovered more about my own soul than I ever thought I would.3. I want this experience to last more than just 6 months. At the end of the day, I’m hiking the AT for me, not for anyone else. I don’t want to rush this experience. This is the last photo I took on the trail with some of my dearest friends in Shenandoah. I didn’t realize it at the time, but it would be one of the last photos of me on the trail this year. I hope to hike Shenandoah to Harper’s Ferry in the fall, but my hike has evolved. I’m going to complete the trail in big chunks for the rest of it. And I’m super excited to share that adventure with all of you on here.If the trail taught me anything, it’s that things don’t always go as planned. A freak hail storm or twisted ankle can cut your hiking day in half. A hitch into town may never come and you end up having to walk an additional 8 miles that day. But it’s all okay. Because at the end of the day, you’re accomplishing something great and epic, no matter how you get it done.So I post this feeling a little sad, yes, but mostly feeling really freakin grateful to have lived in the woods for 2.5 months and to have hiked over 900 miles. And I can’t wait to keep doing more of it.
